The past is only worthy when it's looked on with a smile. Don't dwell upon misfortune or the gold will pass you by. Don't be afraid to look on to the dark and cloudy sky. It rains for everything you see, and one day we will soar, and we will fly. I have only got now on my mind. There is nothing else here left to find. I am only a seasons child. I am only a dear friend of time.

Good Winter 03:06
To you my friends and lovers who are witnissing the rain, don't fear the drops upon you for away with you they'll drain, to all my foes and enemies this is a humble shout, the snow is gonna fall but one day we'll figure it out. There's nothing like a passing storm, it's gonna be a bon iver. There's nothing like the taste of a blue moon beer, it's gonna be a good winter, it's gonna be a good winter. For everything that we've come through and all we've come to be, help your brother off the ice then go for hot whiskey, for it's just a passing season and it will not be the last, if you come to like the darkness, it'll go by really fast.

Just Be It 02:50

Winter is slowly approaching, fast are the storms that she brings. Night it is dark and concerning, but brightness is what the day brings. Rains they are pouring from heaven, so I take rest underneath a tree. I'll sit here a minute and really get with it, how gracious her shelter can be. Winds they are tumbling eastward, the Atlantic melody sings. I listen and whistle along with her tune, the branches they sway and they swing. The sound of her thunder is frightening, the trunk it is too shivering. I notice a flash of her lightening, so I quickly stand up on my feet. My senses they suddenly waken, and I'm reminded by memory. That when lightening strikes you had better think twice about sheltering under a tree. I pause for a moment and wonder, maybe this time I've met destiny. I have always wondered about her, maybe this time is my time to freeze. What a way it would be to leave Ireland, struck by the flashes I see. What a way it would be to leave all this behind, stunned by electricty. I bid my fareweel to surroundings, I said goodbye to falling leaves. Then I made like a tree and went running, back to my bed and my dreams. Now the pebbles are hitting my window, and the walls feel the force of the breeze. How lucky I am to be back home again, how lucky I am to be free.

Tell me what you live for? Livin' for the passing seasons. Tell me what you're here for? Got no time to find a reason. Tell me what you'd kill for? I'll give you life instead of treason. Think that we are done for! So long to the times of decent people, people, people, people... Fighting all of our lives. Colliding all of our lives. Dieing all of our lives. To think that we must live without a purpose, is to not see intention is within. To feel the inner working of the surface, to slaverize the slavery of sin. Show me where you're going? Can't do 'cause I'm going nowhere. Light up what you're growing! But some for times of dispair. I've got no need for power, I only need your lovin' care. Like liquid to a flower, you can't have one without the other. Binding all of our lives. Aligning all of our lives. Finding all of our lives.

Life is a pony tied to a tree, back in the day he would've roamed free, life is the apples over his head, if they don't fall soon, the pony be dead. He don't mind the sunshine, he don't care for rain, he wants to go running with his mother again, he misses his brothers, he his one of three, now life is a pony tied to tree. The edge of my seat. The edge of my mind. The edge of this city that don't treat me too kind. The edge of this moment that makes me feel free. I wish reality'd stop botherin' me. Freedom is only a rebel away, a man with a scizzors and an opening gate, Out on the highway he can do good, 'Cause he ain't do nothin' down here in the mud. I look to horizons with the world on my back, I wish my farmer would cut me some slack, If I was a wanderer, I would stand tall. It's better than just sitting doing nothing at all. It's better than just sitting doing nothing at all. It's better than just sitting doing nothing at all. I said it's better than just sitting round scratchin' my balls!

Woah oh oh oh the waters of Sligo Lakes of plenty and seas by the shore. Woah oh oh oh the waters of Sligo. I don't want to leave behind this beauty no more. They say it is the land of hearts desire, but I don't need desire 'cause this is my home. Show me to the overlook and I'll light myself a fire, I'll gaze on to the sights below this heavenly dome. They say it is the one and only gateway city, why people go down under I sure as hell don't know. While others sit there in the cold and soggy New York City, I am breathin' in the air of the naturesque Sligo. They say it rains about 300 days a year, so much we can't differentiate between the lonesome tears, I am here to tell you that there ain't no need to fear, Cause when the clouds they seperate 300 shades of green is what I see. I say come out to play this time it is our only day, whether you are old or young you've got something to say. And when the sun is shining we'll go to the top or Knocknarea, I hear it's nice this time of year so this is where I'll stay. Come take a walk with me down to the Isle Of Innisfree, we shall have some peace there for peace comes dropping slow. Get on a boat with me and we'll head down to the Celtic Sea, but promise me that we'll return on to the Garavogue. We'll float with swans as they swim above the surface, we'll listen to the birds as they are flying low. Lets take some time to be it is life's only purpose, midnights all a glimmer and noons a purple glowin'.. Watch the people as they soar upon the wave, head to the mountains and find yourself a cave. If you have not seen the west then you are out of luck, I myself am lucky to say I am from Sligeach.

The night is alive, with the sound upon my window. The pittar patter of the rain goes on, and on. The tide rushes in, and the moon guides it's direction. The stars don't stand a chance above a storm. Take it easy my friend, life is short and simple. Take it easy my friend. Take it easy my love, it'll find you someday soon. And it'll take you too. My head is in the clouds, and my mind is on the table. And I hope the souls below my bed, are eased by this tune. My brains got blown away, for the winds the are too able. The caught me runnin' down the hill when I was 8 years old. Go. Be free. And sing. And dance. And move to the rythm of the sky. Be kind. Be true. Be Real. Be You.

about

This album was wrote in and around Ireland from summer 2011 through to sometime in 2012, mostly in the town of Sligo and the west coast of the county by the same name. It was self-recorded and put together at my current residence located adjacent to Sligo's city loop (about 1 mile from the city core). Mixed and balanced out by a good friend and fellow Homeless Mafia band-mate, Christopher Regan, he blends it together like a nice cup of tea!

The name of the album formed as a combination of the ever present theme (Irish weather, weather in general, inner/outer storms, etc.) and the album cover, which is yours truly standing in the cell of a jail that played quite a major part in Irish history. The sheep, well, the sheep are just being sheep.

Thank for for visiting my page and listening to the music. In the words of the late great Goenka-ji: May all beings be happy, peaceful and liberated.
